The economical center of Tanahun district and off course the district headquarter of Tanahun. Earlier Bandipur was the district center and in 1970s, people moved the shifted district headquater from Bandipur to this place by Force and a student Nirmal was unfortunetly killed during the protest. Then, Bandipur was deserted with old house. Bandipur was very powerful from economic point of view until 1970s. Most of people of Bandipur moved to Damauli, Chitwan or Dumre. Bandipur is still a great place to visit, and a good destination for trekkers . Certainly, it was not a suitable for District center because of it's geographical high alltitude location made it a inconvinent place to go there for every day biz. One day Bandipur will again become a great tourist center and it will revive its importance in different perspective. Damauli is the junction of Madi and Seti River. In hindu mythology, Parashar had intimate relation with a Mattshya kanya named as Satyawati. To avoid people see him having such relation, he created fog at that place and therefore, Damauli has fog most of the time in year. There is popular cave known as Parashar cave, where Parashar Rishi spend most of the time doing yoga and studies. The great example of engineering in bridge infrastructure can be viewed in Damauli which is along the Prithvi Highway. It was constructed in B.S 2028 and funded by Government of China. The main attraction is its length of 370 meter. The view of Madi river attracts anyone who ride through this bridge. To honor Mr. Nirmal, the student who lost his life during distrct center transfer fight, a high school named after him was estabhlished. Tanahun is politically very active district, and mostly center for Congress strong hold, but it also has strong base of Communists. Its a highly educated district, and you can find high ranking officers come from this district. About a couple of Kilometers on east side along Prithvi Highway, you will come to visit Ghashi Kuwa (water spring).

3. Panccha Mandhir (Above the tribute of Madi and Seti river)
4. Ghashi Kuwa (Its on the way to Prithvi highway ahead 5 km east from damauli city)
5. Shettal Gufa (Dihikuna, Vyas municapility).
6. Ananta Gufa (Shewor, Vyas municiplaity ).
7. View of madhi river and shagay phat (Madhi pool).
8. Manung hill good for treeking and view of seneric beauty.
9. Madhi river and Seti river famous for rafting and fishing.
10. Some places which is famous for animal husbandry and agriculture:
a. Raniguan(Famous for milk production and fruits like banana, amala, guava, pineapple, orange, lime and also some other types of vegetables).
b. Sangay phat (famous for vegetables production, fruits production especially cucumber and most famous for rice production)
The beauty of this small city is presence of different ethinic groups.

b. Newar society (especially Damauli bazar and Tanahunsoor)
c. Sapkota society (Simal tar, Raniguan)
d. Hadkhale society (Galbubeshi)
e. Poudel society (especially in Raniguan, Amrani)
f. Magar and Gurung society ( Vyas municipality 11, Talghare, Galbubeshi, Jhaputar)
There have been efforts from several communities to promote Damauli as tourism area and place of cultural diversity. To continue these efforts Tanahun Mahotsab is going to held in Damauli from 25th Poush to 5th of Magh. The program will be organized by District Development Office, Tahahun, Vyas Municipality and Tanahun Chamber of Commerce.
